IGNITE is an immersive summer STEM program hosted by the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), where students tackle real-world challenges through hands-on, age-appropriate activities guided by expert scientists, engineers, and Soldiers.
Each summer, ARL hosts IGNITE programs at seven premier locations across Maryland, Texas, and California. Through thought-provoking experiences like building robots and exploring cybersecurity, students develop real STEM skills while working alongside scientists, engineers, and other STEM professionals.
IGNITE is open to middle and high school students who enjoy hands-on projects, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students do not need prior experience in STEM to participate.
We value educators who bring diverse perspectives and a commitment to inclusive learning. By joining ARL IGNITE, you’ll help bridge the gap between academic concepts and military innovation, preparing students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Are you a high school or college student with a passion for STEM and a desire to inspire the next generation? ARL IGNITE internships offer an exciting opportunity to step into the role of mentor, teaching assistant, and role model for middle and high school students participating in our immersive summer programs.
